Summary

Cloverfield, by Christian Movie Reviews

Cloverfield
Positive:

New York is under attack. While at a party, Manhattan experiences a major interruption as a mysterious giant of a monster launches his attack on the city. A small group of people take notes of the monster using their camcorders. With the cameras in hand, they scramble through chaotic streets just to survive. This could have been a good Christian movie for viewers, but there happen to be some scenes that are disturbing to true Christians.

Negative:
In the first scenes there is a woman in bed and she is naked and shows some skin. At the party women are seen running around with low-cut blouses and dresses, showing cleavage. A cameraman places emphasis on some of the women. There are explosive activities in the movie that suggest terrorist attacks or earthquake. We see images that depict the September 11 event whereas a building crumbles causing dust clouds to sweep throughout the streets while people are running, and then we see fires and collapsing buildings and bridges. There are missiles, explosives, bombs, and gunfire as well as other military activities which are totally against the Holy Scriptures. In the movie Cloverfield, God’s name is taking in vain. Other languages interrupt the movie. There are some party scenes where people are drinking.

Comments:
This could have been a good movie had the producers not put in the sleaziness and other scenes that are disturbing to true Christians. The upside is there is no nudity, but that is about as far as it goes for good morality. Christians should see previews and perhaps read other reviews on Cloverfield before renting or buying the movie. The movie does have some scenes that are offensive to True Christians.
