Summary

Juno, by Christian Movie Reviews

Juno

Positive:
Elle Page or Juno faces an “unplanned pregnancy.” She is a teenager faced with a future that presses her to plan to find loving parents to adopt her child. What seems to be the perfect couple however seems to lack development? Juno soon presses everyone in her life to soul search and builds their self-development skills in order to meet her expectations. Co-Star Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman star as “yuppies” that is anxious to see the child. The movie depicts thematic materials, including language and sexual content.

Negative:
Christians often try to avoid movies with nudity, violence, bad language, etc. While most of the movies we see today have these ungodly traits. In the movie there is some sexual content which comprises of talk, and flashes of bare legs that suggest nudity. Violence is sparingly. There is some harsh language in the movie that could offend true Christians. The movie is about premarital sex and teenage pregnancy, which is offensive to true Christians. There is casual drinking in the movie. Discussions develop which the actors talk about drugs and alcohol. In one instance, Juno suggests that she may start selling her medication, Adderall, which is a drug-based medicine designed for those with ADD or ADHD.

Comments:
Realistically, the movie can help parents understand teenagers better. While there are some content that is ungodly, there is other content in the movie that suggests that even true Christians can benefit from watching the movie. We have to think realistically when it comes to choosing Christian movies, such as Juno. We are always going to see alcohol around us, drugs, and even teenage pregnancy. It seems a Christian could learn from the ways that Juno guides people to self-development, which apparently seems to be the main focus of the movie.
