Summary
P. S. I Love you
Positive:
Hillary Swank plays as Holly in the movie, a young widow who lives in Dublin. She lost her husband, Gerard Butler to a terminal illness, or brain tumor. Throughout the movie, Holly finds a series of letters left by Gerry to help her cope with the loss. Months later, Holly finds some new messages that encourage her to continue her life. Holly’s good friend fears the worst will come from the messages, but Holly finds strength to continue living instead. The movie has some good acting and plots. There is some hopeful messages sent in the movie, i.e. you can survive the death of loved ones, but this message is defiled with unruly acts and language.
Negative:
This is not a movie for true Christians. The movie is designed to help people cope with grief from losing a loved one, which is something admirable, but there is lots of talk about sex, and some partial nudity. God does not tolerate or promote this sort of behaviors. God’s name is also taking in vain in the movie, which is not acceptable. Holly in the movie commits fornication with a man she meets, in order to help her get over her husband who has recently passed on. There is a couple kissing in one scene and they are in the bed barely dressed. You see men and women both walking around in their undergarments. There is a depiction of violence, which include loud fights, and door slamming. There is unacceptable language, including the taking of God’s name in vain. There are some bar scenes with drinking and drunkenness in one scene.
Overall: this could have been a good Christian movie had the producers had not defiled it with unacceptable actions and language. This movie is definitely not for true, good moral Christians.
