Summary
There Will Be Blood
Positive:
There Will Be Blood is the turn of the century movie that presents to you the Oscar-Winning Daniel Day-Lewis who changes pace after purchasing a California Ranchers oil rights. Coming against him is Paul Dano who fights against the community to help stop the greediness displayed by Lewis. We actually get to see some of the methods used to produce oil in the movie, which is educational.
Negative:
The only sexual content is a couple who kisses in the background. This is not really anything of concern for Christians. Daniel is injured in the movie which is all a part of nature, especially when you put yourself in such situations. We see blood from his injury. Nothing real major, there are accidents and explosions occurring in the oil drilling fields. We do see Daniel angry in the picture and he attacks Eli in which he kicks and hits him. Eli fights back of course. At the end of the movie we see a bloody and brutal murder. We hear some cuss words, such as ass, hell, and damn. Nothing really severe.
Comments:
Overall, this is probably one of the better Christian movies. We do not have to worry about immoral acts much except the murders and fighting. We do not have to worry about immorality such as sexuality and nudity. The movie is probably one of the better choices for anyone to see, especially those with good moral standards. There is an upsetting scene where Daniel pours some liquor into a child’s bottle to stop him or her from crying. He also gives the child whiskey later in her years. Daniel is noted drinking often in the movie. He smokes also. Overall, it is not a bad movie other than what has been addressed in regards to There Will Be Blood.
